FAQ's

Got Questions?
We’ve got the answers (and the treats) below!

What breeds and personalities do you accept?

We welcome small to medium sized dogs of all breeds and personalities! Whether your pup is a social butterfly, a little shy, energetic, anxious or has a few funny quirks, we’re happy to accommodate them. Just be sure to tell us when booking so we can make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated and protected against fleas & ticks?

Yes! All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations and current flea & tick prevention before staying with us. Vaccination records and parasite prevention details must be provided/disclosed when booking.

These requirements help protect your dog, our other furry guests and us, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Can I book a tour before booking?

Absolutely! We’re more than happy to show you around. Tours are available by appointment so you can meet us, see where your pup will stay and ask any questions before making a booking.

Will my dog be playing with other dogs?

Social interaction is based on your dog’s personality, comfort level and our assessment of what is safest and most appropriate. Dogs may enjoy supervised group activities, individual play or quiet time depending on their needs.

What should I bring for my dog?

Your dog’s usual food, any required medication, and a few familiar items such as a favourite toy or blanket are welcome. We recommend keeping belongings to a minimum and clearly labelling anything you bring.

Can you give my dog medication?

Yes, we are experienced/trained to administer medication as required. Medication must be provided in its original packaging with clear instructions, and owners are responsible for supplying enough medication for the entire stay.

Can I receive updates or photos while my dog is staying?

Yes! We know it can be hard being away from your furry family member, so we provide plenty of updates/photos during their stay.

What happens if my dog needs a vet?

If your dog becomes unwell or requires veterinary attention, we will take appropriate action to protect their wellbeing and contact you as soon as reasonably possible. Please ensure your emergency contact and veterinarian details are current.

What happens if I’m running late for pick-up?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you’re unable to collect your dog at the agreed time. Late or out-of-hours collection fees may apply, and additional boarding fees continue to apply where your dog’s stay needs to be extended.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

Cancellations must be provided in writing. Our cancellation policy just depends on how much notice is provided. A 50% deposit is non-refundable, subject to the terms of our cancellation policy in our terms and conditions.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for school holidays, long weekends and other busy periods. As a boutique boarding service, we intentionally keep our numbers small so we can provide personalised care and attention to every pup. This means spaces can fill quickly, so the more notice, the better!

What makes Tail & Wag different? 🐾

We believe every dog deserves to feel safe, comfortable and cared for while their humans are away. We take the time to get to know each guest as an individual — because no two dogs are quite the same!

We also keep our numbers intentionally low, so your dog can enjoy their holiday without the busy, overcrowded feeling of a traditional kennel.
